Who We Are

Dear Friends,

The Prayer Bear Ministry is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable organization established in 1993 by Terry Krawitz, whose sole purpose is to distribute Prayer Bears to those who are in crisis (whether it is spiritual or physical). The Prayer Bears are handmade by volunteers and come with a special message of comfort, love, peace, and hope.

The Prayer Bear Ministry has served Oklahoma City after the Federal Building bombing, Hawaii after the Kauai Hurricane, and is still serving the community of New York after the Twin Towers terrorist attack (through St. Pauls Chapel at Ground Zero), the Pentagon, American Airlines, as well as our own community–cancer centers, Wilson N. Jones North and South Campuses, Texoma Medical Center, and several area nursing homes. Originally delivered only to area hospitals, the bears also go to centers for abused women and children. More than 7,000 copywritten bears can be found throughout the continental USA, as well as Hawaii and Europe.

You can see that we are a very busy ministry. We are in need of monetary donations to help defray the cost of material goods, as well as shipping, so that we can send our bears to those brave souls fighting for us in Afghanistan.
